Stunning sculptures in Chatsworth Park

For the first and only time, Chatsworth Park – a short walk from The Devonshire Arms – is the home to a temporary exhibition of 12 unique sculptures and art installations.

The exhibition, which is free to visit, will be in the park until 1 October 2022. The exhibition is called Radical Horizons: The Art of Burning Man at Chatsworth.

The event features eight existing sculptures, which were shipped over from the USA, along with four new works that will be constructed on site – three of which will be created in the parkland with the help of visitors and local community groups.

The participation of the public to create three works of art is designed to emulate the process of creating sculptures at the Burning Man event, which takes place in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, where teams of volunteers gather materials in the desert to create new installations.

The Chatsworth House Trust has worked closely with the Burning Man team and artists to bring their distinctive culture of possibility and creativity to Derbyshire.

The Devonshire Arms is a short 5-minute walk from Chatsworth Park, the venue for this avant-garde exhibition, and we’re a great base from which to explore the stunning Peak District National Park – so why not book a stay in one of our 11 individually-styled en suite rooms, by clicking HERE.
