Although Arbor Low is only 12 miles from The Devonshire Arms you can travel back to around 3,000 BC and walk around a fascinating Neolithic/Bronze Age stone circle and henge.
It is the last remaining limestone circle in Derbyshire, although the once vertical stones are now lying on the ground.
The archeological site is open every day during daylight hours, with access through private land, for which the owners charge just £1 per person.
Address: Long Rake, Monyash, Bakewell, DE45 1JS
