From the producer of the first winery in the Veronese region to bottle market ‘Amarone’ back in 1953. 

A blend of Corvina, Corvinone & Rondinella grapes, matured in oak barrels for three years, followed by a further year in bottle. A complex perfume of black cherry, prune, raisin & cedar spice with balsamic hints & a long, elegant finish. This rich, big Amarone is great with equally rich game, lamb & beef dishes.

Made from Malbec grapes which reach full ripeness in the dry, mould-free atmosphere of the sandy Ojo de Vino vineyard which is 1,000 metres above sea level.

When the grapes are ripe, the bunches are partially cut from the vines; hanging in the warm autumn air the grapes dry, concentrating the juice within and giving rise to the finished wine’s fruit character. Added notes of spice & vanilla come from a brief period of oak ageing. Adds spice & juicy fruit to full-flavoured beef, lamb or game dishes.

A superb representative of the Sancerre appellation, whose vineyards are in the municipalities of Bué, Sancerre & Amigny, on limestone & clay soils. 

The nose reveals floral notes with a touch of citrus; the palate is lively with green fruit flavours & a hint of minerality. Delicious with smoked salmon, tomatoes, asparagus, green herbs, goats’ cheese or white fish.

Orange Republic, Godello, Spain | 6 | 8.1 | 11.75 | 35.3
The name, is a nod to the thousands of orange trees that surround the five hectares of old vines just outside the village of Petín in north-west Spain. Here, tucked away in the south-east of Galica, just about as far away as you can get from the Atlantic, in one of Spain’s most verdant regions. 

Aged on its fine lees for about five months prior to bottling, it shows aromas of pear, apricot & peach; the palate is rich & full-bodied with a fresh finish. Wonderful fruit-driven flavours for rich seafood, chicken or spicy pork dishes.

The fruit is harvested at night to preserve the flavour & freshness that epitomises Marlborough Sauvignon. Careful yield management ensures greater concentration & cool fermentation in stainless steel helps retain the essence of the fruit. 

A powerful bouquet of fresh herbs, tomato stalk and blackcurrant matches ripe stone fruit and bright citrus on the palate. A deserving trophy winner that on two occasions has taken Platinum at the Decanter World Wine Awards. Herbaceous & zesty, perfect with white fish, asparagus, goats’ cheese or dishes with green herbs.

Cortese grapes from the best vineyards around the town of Gavi to the north of Genova. Unoaked, the wine spends a little time on its lees to develop a richer mouth-feel. 

Showing floral and citrus aromas, with a minerally, dry palate. Delicious bright, herbal notes — excellent with light Mediterranean dishes, salads & seafood dishes.

Made from Albariño grapes grown in the Salnés Valley region of Rías Baixas. On undulating hills, the vineyards are planted on rocky & alluvial soils; they benefit from cooling influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. 

Unoaked, the wine is a bright, pale lemon colour with hints of apple green. Aromas of white flowers, hints of peach & apricot lead to a fresh, fruity palate; it has a lovely intensity and an almost saline minerality perfect for seafood dishes.

Picpoul is one of the oldest indigenous grapes of the Languedoc region; its use recorded in the 17th century. Unoaked the wine shows a good level of freshness for a wine from such a warm climate, with a citrussy & stone fruit character highlighted with floral notes. Great with fish and other seafood dishes.
